Belly Up

The Belly-Up is a particularly useful TANDEM™ position for accessing the cat’s belly, the insides of its limbs, armpits, and tail. The cat’s head can be oriented in two ways: towards the lead groomer, known as “Belly-Up Lead”, or towards the handler, referred to as “Belly-Up Handler.” This flexibility in positioning ensures that different areas of the cat can be accessed with ease, depending on the grooming task at hand.

The belly-up position offers TANDEM™ support between both arms, allowing the cat to lay comfortably on its back between the handler’s forearms. This support system frees up the handler’s hands, enabling them to manage the cat’s limbs and paws more effectively. This position facilitates thorough grooming and inspection. The forearm support reduces stress for the cat by ensuring a stable and secure hold, which is essential for more sensitive grooming tasks.

The Belly-Up position allows for more intricate grooming tasks with greater precision and ease. Gaining access to various parts of the cat’s body helps in identifying any issues, such as mats, parasites, or skin conditions that might otherwise go unnoticed. This method also enhances the overall well-being of the cat by ensuring that all areas are properly groomed and cared for.
